TOPIC: Big Bay Point on Saturday

Big Bay Point on Saturday 6 years 9 months ago #56

I checked Big Bay Point on Saturday around 11 am. The wind and blowing snow was just horrible. As you can see on the picture below people are going out of the lake early. On shore I met a few of my friends and they warned me to go out. They said that whitefish was biting well on 83-88 feet of water but they couldn’t hold fishing because of the extreme conditions. All of my friends caught at least one whitefish. I ended up fishing for perch very close to the shore, in the area covered from strong wind. Perch action was very good.

Hello, can you tell me if there's any parking lot at BBP as I'm coming up from Mississauga. Thanks in advance.

You can park on side streets or on the ice.

I was on a small pond in Cambridge yesterday, fish had lockjaw. Although temps. were just below freezing, windchill was below -20.
