Rice Lake Fishing Festival Releases Over $69,000 Worth of Tagged Fish

Tagged fish are swimming in Rice Lake worth thousands of dollars in prizes! The Rice Lake Fishing Festival is excited to announce that as of this Saturday morning, May 14th, 50 (fifty) tagged fish worth over $69,000 will be swimming in Rice Lake!

Four species of fish are tagged: walleye, crappie, perch and sunfish. In the largest-ever fishing festival on Rice Lake, participants catching a tagged fish can win prizes ranging in value from $500 to $10,000.

The festival runs from Saturday May 14 at 12am to Sunday June 19 at 12pm noon. Festival Participants have 37 days to fish for the grand prize tagged fish, a $10,000 Gas Card from Pioneer Energy, and other amazing prizes.

Registration is $20 per Adult, $10 per Youth under 16, and $40 per family (maximum 2 adult and 3 youth participants). Buttons are available at www.RiceLakeFishingFestival.ca or at participating Rice Lake Tourist Association members. You may also purchase your button in Bewdley for the opening of walleye season this Saturday. Buttons will be on sale at the crack of dawn!

Festival Fast Facts

There are (4) species of tagged fish: walleye, sunfish, perch and crappie, for a total of 50 tagged fish

Rice Lake has been called the best panfish fishery in North America, with more fish per acre than any lake in Ontario.
