Lake Simcoe Ice Conditions Update from ice hut operators

Lake Simcoe Fishing Adventures, Shanty Bay area - Reporting 9 inches of black ice with slush mixed with water on the surface. Cleats are highly recommended.

Ken Heyink, Jackson's Point. 8-12 huts out on 70' of water. Current ice depth 9-10 inches.

Bonnie Boats Ice Huts, Jackson's Point. Huts on 70' of water. Ice thickness 8-9 inches.

Casey's Fish Huts, Port Bolster - 10 huts out on 20' of water on perch grounds. Ice tickness 6-8 inches. Perch fishing is better than last year.

Steve's Fish Huts, Holmes Point Park (705-426-7229) - 11 huts out on 20' of water on perch grounds. Ice tickness 5-6 inches. Perch and herring fishing is good.

Dave's Fish Huts, Virginia Beach - 6 huts out and more by Friday on perch and pike waters. Ice thickness 6,5 inch of clear ice. Fishing is good.

Tim Hales Fish Huts, Beaverton - 24 huts out on 20-30' of water. Ice thickness 8-10 inches. Great fishing.

Floyd Hales Fish Huts, Beaverton - 20 ice huts out on 28' of water. Ice thickness 9-10 inches.

Lake St. John Ice Staurady January 17, 2015

Fish Huts Rentals, Lake Couchiching (Couchiching Beach Park) - 12 inches of ice, 200 yards out from Couchiching Beach Park. Perch are a plenty! Call Al - 705-345-0814.

Big Bay Point: Saturday, March 16 11.5" of solid blue ice, 2" white, no snow. Perfect walking. Many portable ice huts in the area. Shore ice at the end of BBP Rd is broken but no problem to walk out. Cheers. See you next year.... Read more
