Orillia Ontario: With less than a month left until Canada’s record setting bass tournament gets underway, Mustang Survival has provided a wonderful incentive for those wishing to compete. “We are happy that Mustang will supply four MS185 Classic Floater Suits as an added incentive for anglers to register now for Canada’s premier one day bass tournament. That means the Mustang Early Bird Draw Prize will see two teams … all four anglers win one of their premier floater suits valued at almost $400 each,” said David Meadows club president.
To capitalize on this opportunity and to ensure they pay the same entry fee as last year, anglers must register on or before October 10th.
Register Now and Save $40 Too!
Register now and total entry fee (including Big Fish Pot) will remain at $400 per team (plus a small admin fee to Pay Pal) . Those teams registering after October 10th will pay an additional $40 surcharge and will need to sign up and pay at the pre tournament meeting (Oct 17th) the evening before the big event. On Line registration thru PayPal will enable anglers to sign up and register easily and securely (while on the club's website www.aurorabass.com .
The on line payment and registration system will automatically detect when payment is received, and therefore at the same time allow the club's tournament committee to assign a team number, based on date and time of entry. "We are confident this on line system will be well received and be fair for competing anglers. The sooner anglers pay and register, the lower their team number will be", said Meadows.
As with all previous years, the 110 team field maximum will include up to 10 sponsor teams and Team Number one will be allocated to the previous year winners. In 2014, that means husband and wife fishing duo Simon and Melanie Frost are guaranteed that first-out-of-the-gate spot. For those not choosing the Pay Pal option, they can send in their completed entry forms and payment by cheque, made out to the Aurora Bassmasters c/o BPS Lake Simcoe Open, 203 Beach Rd. Keswick, ON L4P 2L8. Those who elect to pay by cheque (no drop offs permitted) will have their team numbers assigned based on the postal date stamp on the envelope.
The annual Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open, hosted by the Aurora Bassmasters will once again provide paybacks in excess of 100% of entry fees. Held on Saturday October 18th at the wonderful boat launching and tournament weigh in facilities provided by the City of Orillia, this late fall event is timed to coincide with exceptional opportunities for all anglers to catch some of the biggest bass of their lives in Lake Simcoe or Couchiching! In 2010 this tournament set the all time Canadian record for the heaviest five bass ever weighed in during a Canadian bass tournament at 31.5 pounds. That same year, an 8.05 pound monster smallmouth was weighed in that also set a Canadian record ... Year after year anglers catch their Personal Best bass ever while at the same time compete in one of the most lucrative and fun bass tournaments in Canada!
Anglers are reminded that all correspondence will be completed by email ... and in previous years, some applications had email addresses and names that were very difficult to decipher. Organizers therefore urge anglers to please print clearly on the application form and to sign up on or before Oct 10th to save $40 and become eligible for the Mustang Early Bird Draw.
